Nic's pick of the month: Grow Your Own Christmas Dinner
Cornell's Bush Delicata has a beautifully sweet and nutty flavour which makes it ideal for must uses such as roasting, baking or soups. It produces narrow, elongated fruits with cream/ yellow coloured skin with dark green thin stripes along the ribs, although the fruits may occassionally form in a trandition pumpkin/squash shape. This variety can be eaten as soon as mature and owing to it's soft skin may not store as well as other varieties of squash. This variety gives a better yield than the other delicata types. To eat, simply half the fruit, scoop out the seeds and cook. The skin is also edible.
